High Five for Friday!

High Five for Friday friends!  Have no fear, I didn’t get lost in the abyss of cyber space.  This week has just been a tad bit busy and I haven’t had time to write.  My High Five of the week will give you a glimpse as to what I’ve been busy with, linking up with Lauren:

1) I’ve been listening to this book on my way to and from work.  It is so incredibly inspiring and much of what is discussed is completely relatable.  Don’t let the title fool you, I would highly recommend this book to men too.  Especially those who have spouses that are career women and want to have families too.  Two of my favorite chapters so far discuss families with “career loving parents” and being in a “fully supportive” relationship.
Read more about it here
2) I have been eyeballing this dress at Target for some time now, but since I have a closet full of dresses, I have talked myself out of buying it for weeks.  Well, when I was in Target last week this dress was on clearance and the only one left just happened to be my size.  Naturally I bought it and I keep saying this just had to have been God’s way of teaching me how patience can pay off.
See full dress here
3) I have been enjoying the products in my Birchbox that came this week.  If you haven’t heard of Birchbox you should check them out here.  I received a gift subscription for my birthday and LOVE it.  In this month’s box I received samples of Cranberry Gommage face wash, Mermaid Mane Sea Salt Spray, Professional Mattifying Gel, Super Lash Mascara and Designer Fashion Tape.

4) I also hope to have caught the varmint that was eating our tomatoes.  There were many guesses as to what could have been enjoying our fruit as tasty little treats but nothing new has been eaten since we trapped a gopher so hopefully our plants will be spared.  I can’t wait for the day I can just walk out and pick a fresh tomato!
5) My wedding dress is done, fits perfectly and is now safely stowed at my Mom and Dad’s house.  Between receiving some pretty hilarious RSVPs (we have some really creative friends and family members), picking up my dress and going to our final details meeting/tasting tomorrow this whole wedding thing is starting to feel very real.  10 weeks to go, I CAN’T WAIT!
Customized and ordered through vistaprint.com
I hope you have an excellent weekend!  I’m already working on some posts for next week so hopefully I won't be leaving you stranded again!

  1. I have read half of Lean In (I'm taking my time with it) and I love it. The part where she talks about feeling like a fraud, wondering if she's actually good at what she does or just making it up - I've felt those feelings and it was so nice to know that I'm not alone (and especially that this incredibly successful career woman has felt that way too). As someone who is jumping back into a career after having kids, a lot of what she talks about is hitting very close to home.

    Love the RSVPs! So cute!

    1. I seriously cannot get enough of Lean In. When she talked about how great opportunities aren't handed to you they have to be sought after, i thought, "well that makes sense!" Having been a woman in a leadership position, there are so many points in terms of equality in the work place that I find very relatable. And I too, feel comforted that someone who is so successful has felt the same things I find myself feeling.

The RSVPs have been so much fun for us to get back and read, thank you!

  2. That's the second time I've seen that book - Lean In - on this link-up! I included my current fave (One Thousand Gifts), but I'm excited to try Lean In as well! And congrats on getting married! I felt so great when my dress was done. And RSVPs were tedious for me, but I didn't do anything like that! I bet it's so fun!
